Join Historic Columbia for a Garden Workshop and learn about southern garden perennials and southern garden design, execution and maintenance. Special guest David Poston, senior horticulturist at Moore Farms Botanical Garden  in Lake City, S.C., will share some of his favorite garden perennials that thrive in warm, humid climates. In addition, Historic Columbia’s garden experts will be on-hand to share the ins and outs of show stopping perennials that are easily able to fit within your southern garden. More information here

The State Farmers Market campus in Columbia houses the Phillips Market Center, Consumer Protection Division, privately owned wholesale businesses, farmer’s sheds, The Market Restaurant, and additional state managed wholesale facilities and sheds. Consumers can shop year round for fresh produce, specialty products, and artisan items. The peak season for locally grown produce runs from April through early October.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The second half of the season is in full swing and the Fireflies have a tremendous amount of excitement for fans in the weeks ahead at Spirit Communications Park. Theme nights will continue to highlight every home Saturday game for the rest of the season; other special promotions are on tap as well — including the Total Eclipse of the Park on August 21.

July 15 – Mason’s Birthday Bash

July 29 – 70s Night – Staff will be dressed up in 70s attire and fans will be digging on some Disco tunes. As always, fans are encouraged to join the fun.

August 12 – Cartoon Night – Staff will be dressed up in costume as cartoons and fans are encouraged to join.

August 19 – NASA Night – In honor of Total Eclipse Weekend the Fireflies are celebrating all things NASA!

ZOOperstars! are a one of a kind, hilarious mascot inflatable entertainment show that fans of all ages love to watch.

August 21 – Total Eclipse of the Park

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. On August 21, 2017, people in the Midlands will witness the sun disappear behind the moon and turn daylight into twilight. It’s a special 1:05 p.m. first pitch at Spirit Communications Park and the game will feature a stoppage of play during totality of the eclipse. All fans will receive special eclipse glasses, presented by Bay Equity Home Loans & The Jeff Riley Team.

August 30 – Tim Tebow  Bobblehead giveaway

The first 2,000 fans who enter the ballpark on August 30th will receive a Tim Tebow bobblehead, presented by Bojangles’.

August 31 – FINAL HOME GAME (with fireworks)
